Is a Linksys router better than the one my internet provider gave me?
Provider supplied routers are built to a price and often struggle past one or two rooms. A retail Linksys router gives you stronger coverage and your own control over the network settings. You keep the provider device only if your connection needs it as a modem.
Will one Linksys router cover a double storey house?

Linksys routers handle the Wi-Fi in homes, apartments and small offices where one box has to serve every room. Most buyers arrive here after outgrowing the router their internet provider handed them, because coverage falls away at the far end of the house or the connection stalls once several devices stream at the same time.
What sits in this section comes from Linksys alone, in the WiFi 5 class. This is a narrow shelf rather than a wall of options, so the decision turns on matching one router to the size of your space and the number of devices on it. Prices run from entry level through to premium depending on which model you pick.
Three things decide the choice. Coverage comes first: a two bedroom flat needs far less radio reach than a double storey house, and the concrete and brick used in most Pakistani construction cuts Wi-Fi range harder than drywall does. Device count comes second, since a WiFi 5 router copes with a mixed load of phones, laptops and TVs but shows its ceiling when a dozen clients go active together. The wired side comes third. Count the Ethernet ports you need before you buy if a desktop, a NAS or a CCTV recorder has to plug into the same box.
Who each option suits
A one or two bedroom flat on a fibre or cable connection runs well on a single Linksys unit placed near the middle of the floor plan.
