Colour work such as photo retouching, video grading and print layout is the strongest case for the 4K IPS panels, where the pixel density shows fine detail without a zoom. Long spreadsheets, code and CAD drawings benefit more from the 31.5inch panels, where extra rows and columns fit on screen at once. If you are building a matched pair for a trading or monitoring desk, buy two of the same 27inch model together rather than mixing sizes. Reception counters, labs and shared workstations do well with the plainer 27inch IPS screens at the lower end of the range.
